Harry „The Whip“ Pituli

Harry „The Whip“ Pituli
Raised in the deserts of northern Waldviertel, his preference for Rock, Hard Rock, Punk Rock, and Heavy Metal developed in the 1980s, which didn’t receive much understanding or affection from the local colleagues of brass music and the commercial bands that emerged from this talent pool.
The only way to musically evolve in the preferred direction and kickstart a Rock’n’Roll career was through various school bands. But, as the saying goes, “I should’ve known we never get far.” And upon completing his Matura, the Rock’n’Roll career that had begun came to an abrupt end. … The next 25 years were a Rock’n’Roll wasteland for Harry the Whip, and the drumsticks weren’t even picked up at the local Chinese restaurant.
The enthusiasm for acts like Guns ‘n’ Roses, Skid Row, Cinderella, Mötley Crüe, and other harder-edged bands continued to burn, and the idea of a Rock’n’Roll career still lingered in the back of his mind.
Towards the end of the previous decade, Harry the Whip and his buddy Captain Fred McGuinness decided to form their own “decent band”… and that’s how Harry “The Whip” Pituli found himself back behind the drum kit.
“I need a 16-inch cymbal for the hi-hat… and everything below a 24-inch bass drum is a floor tom” – this quote quite succinctly characterizes the approach of the 2-meter man to “decent” equipment.
In line with his role models Brent Fitz (Slash and the Conspirators, Alice Cooper…), Tommy Lee (Mötley Crüe), Rob Hammersmith (Skid Row), Phil Rudd (AC/DC), and Steven Adler (Guns ‘n’ Roses), Harry the Whip plays a straight, unembellished, powerful, and groovy drum style… just like Pituli, the timekeeper on the Roman galleys.

Fred “The Captain” McGuinness
After initial involvements in reggae, blues, and various rock formations, the Captain eventually discovered that hard and heavy is his true calling. Glam is perfectly welcome as well. Whether it’s classic hits from the real glam rock era like those of Sweet or Slade, or the unforgettable songs of hair metal bands from the 1980s, it doesn’t matter. The main thing is that it rocks and has a certain fun factor. … In addition to the bass-heavy musical side, The Captain also covers other creative aspects of the hard rock formation. Graphic design, wallpapers, and stage attire are his domain.
